Conventions, Producer and Target Audience

For the front cover I will have one main image and a masthead on my front cover/. It will have an incentive which will allow the reader to win Red Hot Chili Pepper tickets. I will also have the bar code/essential information along with a several sub headings along the left and right, either side of my main image . In my contents page I will have one main image, and another smaller image below, where my review is. There will be a list of page numbers and brief descriptions of what will be on those pages. As well as an “Every Month” section. On my double page spread I will have a main image on the right hand side with a caption. On the left there will be a main title which will be a pull quote from the article below, it will be in a larger, more handwritten style font to stand out. This will go with the singer song writer theme I have with my article. I will also help draw in the readers attention. There are page numbers in the bottom corners also.

For my magazine producer I am most likely to use Hearst as they do not have an indie/rock music magazine, and it will help them as a business expand their range of products. This is also one of the leading magazine producers in the UK, having 20 magazine brands. They do not have anything like my magazine however the magazines they do have, such as cosmopolitan, are very big prestigious magazines and are know for their good quality, and hopefully with the readers knowing this, it will persuade them more to buy the magazine.

The target audience of my text is both boys and girls, aged between around 16-25, I will use this age range as during my audience survey I discovered that 80% of the people I questioned were within this age range. My target audience are indie-rock fans, so people who like bands such as Oasis, Arctic Monkeys, and other artists shown in my "Inspirational Texts” blog post.

My magazine would be able to be bought at local shops and supermarkets; this is because it will be sold where you can buy Hearsts other produced magazines. My magazine may also be talked about on radio shows and there would possibly be an advert.
